The Story of An American in the Périgord
Born in New York and now based in France’s Dordogne-Périgord, Andrée Oulmann brings an international perspective to editorial photography for U.S. magazines, agencies, and brands.
Before pursuing photography, she worked in New York for Christian Dior Parfums and in finance for Club Med, experiences that grounded her in the worlds of global marketing and brand strategy. Later, at Studio Edelkoort in Paris—the renowned trend forecasting and design bureau—she deepened her sensitivity to cultural nuance and visual storytelling.
Those diverse perspectives shape the way she photographs today: with an instinct for people, a respect for atmosphere, and an editorial clarity that connects across cultures. Her work blends documentary storytelling with portraiture to create imagery that feels lived-in, cinematic, and real.
Publications and brands collaborate with her when they want authentic stories of European life—told with intimacy, clarity, and a strong sense of place.
